YouTube VideosYouTube - Grouper Buddy This short underwater video was shot by Mary Marshall, and shows me taking pictures of one of the friendly Groupers at Little Cayman during our trip there in February 2009.YouTube - Loading Zodiacs at Salisbury Plain, South Georgia Island This video was shot by Mark Rentz, one of the members of the Cheesemans Ecology Safari to Antarctica, S. Georgia Island, and the Falklands that I was on in January 2010. I'm the third person on the left, black parka, with the blue dry bag and tripod. YouTube - King Penguin Walks Through Fur Seal Colony This video of a King Penguin was shot by Mary Marshall on our trip with Cheesemans Ecology Safari to Antarctica, S. Georgia Island, and the Falklands in January 2010. The penguin returns to Right Whale Bay, S. Georgia Island, with a very full belly, and has to make its way through a fur seal colony to get to the King Penguin colony. The fur seal pups are very curious. Curious Minke Whale Up Close in Antarctica This video of an encounter with a Minke whale was shot by Mary Marshall on our trip with Cheesemans Ecology Safari to Antarctica, S. Georgia Island, and the Falklands in January 2010. We spent over 2 hours with this wonderfully friendly and curious Minke whale. It went around and under our Zodiac, spy-hopped right next to us, showered us with its "blow", and kept us shooting and laughing. YouTube - Cuttlefish Laying Eggs This video was shot by Mary Marshall during our visit to Indonesia in September-October 2010. There were two cuttlefish, and we spent nearly 15 minutes with them. They weren't afraid of us, and while we were photographing and videoing them, one deposited a series of eggs within the coral heads. YouTube - Made For Each Other This video was shot by Mary Marshall during our visit to Indonesia in September-October 2010. We see two goby shrimp busy doing their job: clearing out the hole in the sand that they and their goby share: a never ending task. The goby "stands guard" and the shrimp each keep one antenna touching the goby while outside the hole. If there's danger they all immediately hide in their hole. YouTube - Wunderpus Pops and Flamboyant Octobus Strolls This video was shot by Mary Marshall during our visit to Indonesia in September-October 2010. Here we see two of the amazing critters that are found only in these waters. The wunderpus octopus does a great job of mimicking other critters for camouflage. There's a related "mimic octopus" in the same area, but they can be distinguished by the pattern on the tentacle edges. The flamboyant cuttlefish is fairly small, and it's an unassuming medium brown when not disturbed. But, just give it a reason to be concerned and watch the colors change and the posture get aggressive! Socorro Islands Diving Adventure on the Solmar V - Mantas, Sharks, and More! This video was shot by Mary Marshall. It highlights our ten days of diving the Socorro Islands March 2012 on the Solmar V, a beautiful, well-equipped "liveaboard" dive boat with a truly outstanding crew. Amazing Encounter with an Adorable Elephant Seal Pup This is a video my wife, Mary Marshall, created from one of the most amazing experiences we've had - Mary, especially, as you'll see. It occurred at Elephant Point on Livingston Island, Antarctica, January, 2014. Mary saw this elephant seal pup coming out of the water, and had the presence of mind to just relax and wait in the hope that it might come up the beach and check her out. Watch the result!
