Steve Gould Photography

WELCOME

Welcome to Steve Gould Photography. I am a San Diego photographer, and I specialize in landscape, nature, wildlife, and underwater photography from around the world. My images are available either as custom fine art prints or as stock photography. You can see many of my favorite images on the Galleries pages. There are galleries for many of our Western states, as well as for other parts of the world where I have traveled; I have been to six of the seven continents, Australia being the one still to come. And, there are galleries for underwater images from many of the best diving areas of the world.

You'll find information on my background and photography on the About Steve page.

MY BOOKS

I have published my Antarctica book, "To The End Of The Earth, A Journey to the Southern Ocean". The book is available in three versions. I've also published a new book, "A Journey Through Iceland", with images from my recent trip to Iceland (read more below). They are both available from Blurb.com. AND, I have created eBook versions of both books!

Just click on Check Out My Books below, and it will take you to the "Steve Gould Photography Bookstore" at Blurb. If you want to view any book, click on any of the book icon. If you would like to purchase a copy, click on the book icon with the type of cover you would be interested in. This takes you to the page where you can view/preview the book, and where you can place an order if you wish to. This is the page where you will see the eBook version, too.

HOME PAGE IMAGES

I have been absent from here for a number of months, but here are some new images from my trip last October to Grand Staircase Escalante National Park in Utah. Yes, that was a year ago, but my new photography book on San Diego was pretty much all-consuming when I wasn't traveling. Most of this trip to Utah was in the Escalante portion of the National Park, and it has an awesome variety of rock formations and wild canyons. Lots of unimproved roads to bounce over, too! Route 12 from the town of Escalante to Boulder is one of the most amazing roads I've ever driven on. There are so many gorgeous overlooks, but the best part is a section that runs along a ridge barely the two lanes wide, with both sides dropping to vistas that make your jaw drop. Except for "Devil's Garden Sunrise" (Hole-in-the-Rock Road)and "Splitting Rock" (Hell's Backbone Canyon Road), all the new images are from Route 12.

A year ago, I was commissioned to photograph San Diego and the surrounding areas for the new photography book. I completed the project at the beginning of September and am waiting to see the page layout: I gave the publishers 300 images - from the nearly 20,000 I took over the course of the year - and they are making the final selection of 150-160. The book will be published next Spring. It was exciting, and I learned a lot about my hometown, and I had some wonderful experiences with people I met during this adventure.

We uploaded the first video from the 2013-4 return trip to Antarctica. Check it out with the last link below! With the San Diego book finished, I will be getting to videos from a number of trips.
